How do I change a 2-point shot to a 3-point shot?
Any of these methods will immediately correct the score (if 2 points have already been added for the shot).
At Game Time: If you notice the problem in the Recording General Actions Window (the window with the Missed, Unassisted, and Assisted buttons, etc.) you can change the point-value by double-clicking on the yellow "2." Double-clicking toggles the value from 2 to 3 to ? then back to 2. If you toggle to "?" doHOOPS will automatically ask for the shot location again, and change the point-value based on the new location you click on. If you toggle to either 2 or 3, doHOOPS throws away the previous shot location and enters the point value without using a shot location at all. (You can always add the shot location back later on.)
At Game Time: If you're already finished with this field goal, but haven't recorded a new action yet, you'll see a "3" (with an arrow) in the red circle next to the Undo box above the court. You can immediately toggle that field goal from 2 points to 3 points just by clicking on the 3 in the red circle. (This works even if it was an assisted field goal, and what you see in the Undo box is the assist, not the field goal itself.) As soon as you do this, the actual shot location is thrown away since it is no longer valid. (The field goal and any associated assist are NOT thrown away.) You can easily add the corrected shot location later in the Actions Window.
At Game Time: you can Undo whatever action is displayed in the Undo box above the court by double-clicking on the Undo trashcan, or by dragging the contents of the Undo box into the trashcan. However, doing this just gets rid of the "incorrect" shot -- you will have to manually add in the correct 3-point shot completely from scratch.
At half-time or
after the game: Use the Actions Window for this game. The
Actions Window gives you several ways to correct your game
actions. First, you'll need to find the "bad" 2-point
shot Then you'll need to undo it, and add in a new 3-point shot
to replace it. (The easiest way is to find the "bad"
shot in the Actions List, click on it to select it, then click on
the Add button -- before you click on Undo. This way
you'll get an Add window with the correct player, team, and clock
time all already filled in, and all you'll have to do is change
the action to the correct 3-point shot. After you add the new 3-point
shot, you can Undo the incorrect 2-point shot.)
